GRN Vision

Las Vegas Convention Center Phase II

The Las Vegas Convention Center Phase II Expansion (LVCC Expansion) project consists of a 1.4 million GSF (conditioned space) multi-use facility located in Las Vegas, NV. GRN Vision is collaborating with TVS-TSK Architects Joint Venture, Turner/Martin Harris and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority to achieve a dual Green Building certification for the facility. Both LEED and Green Globes Certifications are anticipated in Spring 2021.

Strategy

From the beginning of the project, the LVCC Expansion has had a commitment to sustainability. GRN Vision has been the project’s sustainability partner to ensure that these commitments are upheld in all areas. The LVCC Expansion showed superior leadership in energy savings and water conservation. During the integrative design process, the architects, engineers and building owners made it a priority to conserve both water and energy. By working together, the team was able to achieve an outstanding 78% below baseline for landscape water usage and an energy model that surpassed code regulations. By adding rooftop solar to the project, the building owner will see additional energy and cost savings. Sustainability efforts will even be obvious to those who do not work within the building. Visitors who drive electric vehicles will be offered numerous charging stations along with preferred parking. GRN Vision is grateful to have been the sustainability consultant on this unique project that will benefit all building users for many years.

Results

It has long been known that Las Vegas is a destination spot for conventions. Now, people will recognize the building itself for being a leader in energy efficient design. Congratulations to the LVCC Expansion for achieving substantial sustainable practices and being at the front line of global change.
