GRN Vision is a big proponent for developing sustainable, local food production and distribution systems. Rick Van Diepen assisted with the planning for this event and GRN Vision is the official co-host along with the UNLV Downtown Design Center. This groundbreaking event was designed as a gift to the Las Vegas community which has been the host city for the Indoor Ag Conference for the past three years. Three teams of urban farming professionals – supported by UNLV students from the Downtown Design Center – will design “farms of the future” in a workshop that will teach vertical farming concepts in a hands-on, experiential setting.
The event will take place at the historic Fifth Street School in Las Vegas immediately preceding the Indoor Ag-Con, an international meeting of the brightest minds in urban agriculture, agriculture technology and vertical farming.
The Association for Vertical Farming held the inaugural Agritecture Design event in December, 2014 in New York which was highly successful. With an introduction from vertical farming pioneer, Dr. Dickson Despommier, and with ‘real world’ sites kindly provided by the Downtown Project, we expect an equally successful Agritecture Design event in Las Vegas.
GRN Vision Principal Rick Van Diepen and his fellow Principal live their Mission by Enriching and Regenerating Communities and the Planet.
